STACI FRENES’ NEW CD “METEOR SHOWER” OFFERS HOPE AND EXPECTANCY
September 12, 2008

Nashville, Tennessee (September 10, 2008) — Critically hailed singer/songwriter Staci Frenes releases her most artistically defining CD to date with Meteor Shower, a collection of songs loosely based around the theme of our search for traces of God’s glory in our daily existence.
“I believe God wants to speak to us through the ordinary and not so ordinary events in our lives, and like a meteor shower, show us glimpses into His world,” Staci expresses. “If we can learn to be more expectant, less distracted, and willing to let go of our preconceived notions of Him, then the best and deepest truths about ourselves and about God’s heart will be revealed to us.”
Meteor Shower builds on Staci’s 2005 release, Nothing Short of Amazing, which saw national and international radio success, critical acclaim, and continued TV and film inroads. Produced by Nate Sabin (Sara Groves, Jason Gray), Meteor Shower features Staci’s signature thoughtful, perceptive lyrics in a folky-pop context, but the soundscape broadens with lush, layered textures and takes on a more eclectic edge with forays into alternative rock, blues and even a little funk. The result is a solid pop record from a confident songwriter exploring what it means to be human searching for the divine, like an astronomer interrogating the night sky for signs of life from the world beyond.
Staci is a nationally-touring Christian artist with five critically-acclaimed CDs whose music is also enjoying mainstream attention via regular spots on major network television (WB, CBS, ABC) and films, and recently American Airlines’ Paste Magazine Music Channel. Staci has appeared on both Live From Studio B and The Harvest Show with her last two CD releases, Nothing Short of Amazing, and her Christmas EP, Wise Men and Angels, both of which also delivered nationally successful radio singles, garnering her an ever widening fan base.
Staci also represents international relief and development organization World Vision, and speaks regularly on behalf of children who are orphaned and vulnerable in the AIDS pandemic. She has ranked in the organization’s Top 20 for the past six years, continuing to gain child sponsorships and visit places such as the outer rural villages of Nicaragua in November of 2007 as part of her ongoing work with World Vision.
Making her home in Northern California with her husband, Abe, their two kids and yellow lab, Jazz, Staci is currently gearing up for touring with the new album, after spending a season leading worship part-time at her home church, Cornerstone Fellowship, in Livermore, California.
