SHERI EASTER: “SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT”

August 21, 2008

Nashville, TN - BSA/Beckie Simmons Agency is happy to announce that Sheri Easter is still on the road full time!  This is amazing since Sheri had surgery last month for breast cancer.  Her recovery time is nothing less than a miracle. Just two weeks ago, Sheri, along with Jeff, flew to Winnepeg, Manatoba,Canada.  What a weekend…they traveled by commercial plane, a chartered plane, a pickup truck, and then a rowboat (yes, we said rowboat!) to deliver her message in song! Now, that is what we would label miraculous…”Something to shout about”!

Sheri Easter says: “This week, I received some of the best news I’ve had in a month!  I met with my oncologist and from all of the bone scans, CT scans and echo-cardiograms, etc., everything came back clear - no tumors, no metastasizing, no visible signs of cancer anywhere in my body.  Praise the Lord! Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called and sent cards.  May God bless you with the same love you’ve shown to me.”

Sheri also plans to undergo chemotherapy, as a measure to prevent cancer recurrences. She adds: “Please keep the prayers going as you well know, chemo can take its toll on a body.  I haven’t missed any of my dates except the week of surgery and I hope to be strong enough to continue to travel full time.  My aunt Janis traveled with the Lewis Family during her treatments and she has been a huge encouragement to me throughout this battle.  I’m wise enough to know cancer nor its treatments are easy, but I choose to believe that God is faithful and I am determined to do everything I can to stay strong and healthy during this process.”
Beckie Simmons adds that Sheri plans to be on the bus every weekend and has no plans to miss any dates.  She wants to be out there delivering her message and enjoying her life on the road with her family and friends.  And, that’s “something to shout about”!

Sheri, I just read about your diagnosis today. I am a living testimony that God can take you through chemo and radiation if necessary. In March ‘ 07, I found a lump while showering. I had a lumpectomy and it was found to be cancer. I had more tissue at the sight taken and the lymph nodes from under that arm. The pathology reports came back negative. I took six sessions of three kinds of chem then 30 doses of radiation. My last treatment was the Friday before Thanksgiving ‘07. Thanksgiving had a whole new feeling that year! Thanks be to God, I didn’t get sick from chemo and had only a few radiation burns. He is so good to me. I had a huge support system of family, church family,co-workers, and my wonderful husband. You will be in my prayers and just keep trusting the Lord - He will NEVER fail!
A Sister in Christ and a sister in cancer survivor-ship.
