David L Cook Wins 6th Emmy

July 26, 2010

Christian recording star, David L Cook took home his sixth career win recently at the Emmy Awards. David won for his work as an arranger/composer for his musical piece, “Meet Me at the Crossroads. The song was used as the theme song for the television series, New South Crossings which was filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina. Cook won the Emmy in 2008 for his work on the series scores and audio track.

“Meet Me at the Crossroads,” was penned by Cook and his writing partner Zach Roberts. Cook said that he and Roberts wrote the song over the telephone and that it was just a simple song that lets people know that no matter where you come from, the color of your skin, what religion you are, that there is a place where everyone is the same. If we will drop our pride and prejudices and meet each other in a common place, we could all get along and live in harmony.

Cook who is no stranger to the Emmys said, “I am very humbled that people like my work enough to acknowledge me in such a way. I just hope I can continue to write good music and show people that I have the heart to do it.”

Cook, who resides in North Carolina, comes from the famous Cook Family Singers, who made their way into people’s hearts on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry with the Carter Family and so many others. David was only five years old when he made his first appearance and has been onstage and continues to thrill audiences to this very day. The family group retired from the stage in 1980.

Yet To Come Publishing and Caraway Media Group Announce Special Preferred Partner Agreement

September 28, 2008

Pictured L to R are Dove Award Winning Writers/Publishers D.K. & Sherrie Brewster of Yet To Come Publishing and Charles & Rosie Brady of Caraway Media Group & Radioactive Airplay.

Branson, Mo. – (September 28th, 2008) On the opening night of the Branson Gospel Singer Songwriter Associations three day annual event for artists and songwriters,  the BGSSA and CMG  announced a special preferred partner  agreement between Dove award winning writers/publishers D.K. & Sherrie Brewster  of  Yet To Come Publishing and  Charles & Rosie Brady of Caraway Media Group.

D.K. Brewster of Yet to Come Publishing stated “CMG’s move into distributing digital downloads to radio stations has been one of the most innovative ideas I have seen.  At a time when due to economic realities most are having to cut back on the number of radio stations being serviced,  Radioactive Airplay is rapidly expanding the reach of the music of our writers and artists in our association in ways we never thought possible. “

Sherrie Brewster of Yet to Come Publishing commented;  “It is exciting to see how God is using Charles & Radioactive Airplay to get the music to the stations so they can share these powerful messages in song with their listeners. This is a wonderful opportunity for our writers and the artists that we work with.”

Charles Brady of CMG & Radioactive Airplay stated that he first became acquainted with DK and Sherrie Brewster through the Emergent Gospel Songfest. In going through hundreds of songs you begin to learn quickly who the Lord has His hand on when it comes to those folks who know and can recognize great music.  D.K. & Sherrie have written, co-written and published songs that have won countless major awards including the GMA’s coveted Dove Award and the Song of the Decade Award for “Praise His Name” which was recorded by Jeff and Sheri Easter.  Charles noted; “The thing that really attracted me to this talented couple was the passion and devotion they have to working and assisting other writers and artists. That’s exactly the goal we have for our company.  The goals we have are to educate, train, and equip those people who God has gifted with the ability to write and/or sing the message of the Gospel in song. When I find others that have those common goals and aspirations to see ministry expanded I want to work with those folks. DK & Sherrie Brewster have demonstrated a real love and passion for the songs and those who write and sing them.  I’m honored to be here in Branson, Mo with them this week  and with the BGSSA and I’m looking forward to working closely with them in developing this special new membership level for the BGSSA that has my full support behind it.”

The new agreement expands the offerings of Yet to Come Publishing and the BGSSA to include a brand new membership level that offers special pricing for RAA services along with special member opportunities to interact with industry leaders who share a likeminded passion for seeing music that lifts up Jesus Christ made available to every radio station.  CMG & Yet To Come Publishing along with the Branson Gospel Singer Songwriter Association will be working on special training events & seminars tailored specifically for this new Preferred Partner Membership level.  The events of this weekend are just a taste of what is “Yet To Come!”

The Branson Gospel Singer Songwriter Association is open for all artists and writers who are looking for an organization that offers regular opportunities for learning about songwriting and expanding the outreach and improving the quality of songs so that they meet the guidelines and quality standards for “broadcast ready” music that can then be offered for radio airplay.  To learn more about the opportunities and activities of the BGSSA or to sign up for membership in the organization you can visit www.yettocomeproductions.com
