Bluegrass Pioneer Dr Ralph Stanley Has Died At 89

news-300One of the last of the original pioneers of bluegrass music has died at his home in Virginia. No doubt this date will be one remembered for many years to come as a day when the elder statesmen of the beloved genre passed away.

“Dr. Ralph” was a unique talent and had a voice unlike any other that I had ever heard. It could well be that his greatest notoriety came towards the end of his life as his voice rang out in the blockbuster movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Rest In Peace Dr Ralph Stanley….
