May 16, 2009

As the town of Branson, Mo celebrates 50 years of great music and live entertainment, long-time Branson resident and entertainer Randy Plummer a recording artist for Yet To Come celebrates a Number 1 song titled “BRANSON.” The song has recently spent an impressive 3 week run at Number 1 on the Radioactive Airplay Classic Country Chart.

SoGospel.Com editor Charles Brady recently caught up with Randy to talk about the song Branson and Randy’s connection with the town. When asked about his ties to the city that is quickly becoming the “New Nashville” for traditional and gospel music Randy said, “ I am in my 36th year of entertaining here. My Folks and I opened the 3rd family show here back in 1973 called The Plummer Family Country Music Show that operated from 1973 till 1990. After the show closed in 1990 I stayed here and am currently in my 37th consecutive season. I work at the LIttle Opry Theater at the IMAX Complex performing on James Garrett’s show “ A Tribute To John Denver” and also James Garrett’s Tribute to George Strait called, “Strait Country.”  Both shows run Monday thru Saturday.  I am also working with the Max Bacon Family on Sundays at the Grand Country 76 Music Hall here in Branson and also on the Ozark Mountain Jubilee.”

When speaking about writing the song “Branson” Randy noted “I am really excited about releasing “Branson” and I hope it will help to bring more tourists here to Branson. I love Branson so much and I am wanting to do my part in helping to keep Branson going onward and upward!

In addition to writing classic country songs like “Branson” Randy has also penned many chart topping gospel songs. He is also a very active member in D.K. and Sherrie Brewster’s “Gospel Praise Gathering” that is held each month at the Ramada Inn Conference Center and Randy is also a talented writer with the Brewster’s “Yet To Come Publishing Co.” Randy stated that “Lifting up and exalting the Lord Jesus is an important part of who I am.”

Congratulations to Randy & Yet To Come on the recent success of “Branson” as the city celebrates a major milestone by celebrating its’  50th Anniversary this year!
