SHERI EASTER: “SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT”

August 21, 2008

Nashville, TN - BSA/Beckie Simmons Agency is happy to announce that Sheri Easter is still on the road full time!  This is amazing since Sheri had surgery last month for breast cancer.  Her recovery time is nothing less than a miracle. Just two weeks ago, Sheri, along with Jeff, flew to Winnepeg, Manatoba,Canada.  What a weekend…they traveled by commercial plane, a chartered plane, a pickup truck, and then a rowboat (yes, we said rowboat!) to deliver her message in song! Now, that is what we would label miraculous…”Something to shout about”!

Sheri Easter says: “This week, I received some of the best news I’ve had in a month!  I met with my oncologist and from all of the bone scans, CT scans and echo-cardiograms, etc., everything came back clear - no tumors, no metastasizing, no visible signs of cancer anywhere in my body.  Praise the Lord! Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called and sent cards.  May God bless you with the same love you’ve shown to me.”

Sheri also plans to undergo chemotherapy, as a measure to prevent cancer recurrences. She adds: “Please keep the prayers going as you well know, chemo can take its toll on a body.  I haven’t missed any of my dates except the week of surgery and I hope to be strong enough to continue to travel full time.  My aunt Janis traveled with the Lewis Family during her treatments and she has been a huge encouragement to me throughout this battle.  I’m wise enough to know cancer nor its treatments are easy, but I choose to believe that God is faithful and I am determined to do everything I can to stay strong and healthy during this process.”
Beckie Simmons adds that Sheri plans to be on the bus every weekend and has no plans to miss any dates.  She wants to be out there delivering her message and enjoying her life on the road with her family and friends.  And, that’s “something to shout about”!

Gaither Homecoming Videos Certified Gold By RIAA

August 19, 2008

Nashville, TN (8-13-08) – When a handful of gospel music pioneers gathered in a Nashville studio in 1991 to lay down tracks for one Gaither Vocal Band song, “Where Could I Go,” there was little indication of what would follow.  Seventeen years later, gospel legend Bill Gaither’s sentimental gesture continues to touch such a responsive chord in his audience that of the 125 Gaither Homecoming titles in circulation, 113 have attained gold, platinum or multi-platinum RIAA certification as of June 30, 2008.   Of those titles, 49 are gold, 59 are platinum and five are multi-platinum.

Among the newest titles to be certified gold are the two hymns projects taped at the Grand Ole Opry House: Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art; two projects by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound: Get Away Jordan and Together, a joint project with the Gaither Vocal Band; and The Best of Anthony Burger.

“I never cease to be filled with gratitude and humility that these videos have ministered to the lives of so many fellow pilgrims,” Bill Gaither reflected.  “I simply wanted to sing a song with so many of my musical heroes—Jake Hess, Howard and Vestal Goodman, the Speer Family, George Younce and Glen Payne and some others who were entering the twilight of their careers.  But God wasn’t through with them yet, and He used the Homecoming stage to introduce their music to a new generation of music lovers.  What a blessing that has been!”

The newest Gaither DVDs, A Country Bluegrass Homecoming Volumes 1 and 2 will be released August 19th.
