EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. – The New Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs will hold its 5,000th performance Friday, May 23 at 8:30 p.m., as part of its 40th anniversary celebration season.

More than 7.4 million people have seen the story of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection as told on an outdoor stage in the hills of the Ozark Mountains since the play opened in July 1968.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the play has been revamped with parables and text from different gospels in The New Testament, focusing on more miracles Christ performed in the days before his crucifixion and the days before his ascension.

Those returning to see the play can still expect to find more than 150 actors and live animals on the 550-foot stage, but more than 90 percent of the scenes are new, along with the introduction of a new character – Satan.

Performances run May 2 through Oct. 25 at 8:30 p.m. nightly, excluding Wednesdays and Sundays, although there will be a special Sunday performance this Memorial Day weekend. For more information, visit GreatPassionPlay.com or call 1-800-882-7529.

Mike LeFevre Quartet Signs Booking Agreement With The Harper Agency

May 29, 2008

(L-R) Front:  Gus Gaches, Mike LeFevre, David Staton; Back: Jordan LeFevre, Ed and Jeff Harper.

NASHVILLE, TN (5-28-08) – The Harper Agency announced today they have signed an exclusive booking agreement with the Mike LeFevre Quartet.   Mike, David, Stacy and Gus are fairly new to the Southern Gospel circuit, however this exciting group of men is quickly becoming known for their fresh four-part harmony, exceptional live performances and soul-stirring songs.  The quartet recently signed a recording contract with Canaan Records and is in the studio finishing up their debut project with Producer Jason Webb, which is set to release on August 12th.

Ed Harper commented, “Our family has known Mike for years and we know that he, along with David, Stacy and Gus are truly committed to the Lord’s calling.  We are looking forward to being a part of their efforts to broaden their ministry.  I have heard several of the songs on their upcoming new release on the Canaan label and the sound, along with the message of their songs, will be something they can be proud of for years to come.”

The Harper Agency is considered by industry leaders as one of the leading booking agencies in its field.  The agency has led the way in exposing Gospel music to some of the largest churches in America and has been very successful in scheduling their artists at major concert halls, festival events, churches and state fairs across the country.  They have been very instrumental in garnering network television exposure, as well as the development of Christian music events at major theme parks.

Mike LeFevre added, “I have known the Harper family for years and am thrilled to be working with them once again.  Ed, Jeff and Dana have an amazing reputation and the quartet is honored they will be representing us.   All of us are excited about our future together!”

Mike LeFevre Quartet’s latest Canaan project, “Nothin’ But Good,” will include the classic Mike LeFevre Quartet sound with songs by notable songwriters such as Sue Smith and Joel Lindsey, as well as Word Music Publishing writers Kenna Turner West and Lee Black. The album will also feature several songs by group members, David Staton and Gus Gaches, who were also recently signed to Word Publishing. In an album where nothing but high-caliber songwriting and superior vocals abound, this project is already creating a buzz among industry professionals. Canaan Records and Word Entertainment will release Mike LeFevre Quartet’s debut album worldwide. The first single from the project, “Big Mighty God,” will ship to radio the end of May.

Mike LeFevre, nephew to the first lady of Gospel music herself, Eva Mae, began singing professionally with The Alphus LeFevre singers. In the early eighties Mike sang briefly with the Singing Americans, and from 1985 to 1992 he was the smooth baritone voice for the very successful Gold City.  Mike took some much needed time off, but now he is back with what he believes is Gospel music history in the making.  Mike has prayerfully and carefully picked the members that make up the new quartet.  They have great new music and a great new sound that will win them fans of all ages. The quartet’s members, both individually and collectively, share one common goal and purpose - to exalt and glorify the name of Jesus.

Keith Plott Completes New Album and Releases 2 Songs That Debut At Number 1

May 16, 2008

Riding on the success of his first self titled album and first Number 1 song as a soloist Keith Plott has made a bit of history with his second solo album titled “There Is One” produced by Greg Day, Keith Plott & Lee Fortune.  Keith released 2 singles from the new album and both songs debuted at Number 1 on the Radioactive Airplay Charts. According to Charles Brady of Radioactive Airplay this has only happened once before in the history of the Radioactive Airplay Charts. “To have an artist release singles to Southern Gospel and to Country Gospel and see them both debut at Number 1 in the first week is a strong indication that radio loves the music of this artist. It is obviously clear that when it comes to Keith Plott that is certainly the case!”

Cross 4 Crowns Sign Distribution Agreement with Crossroads Entertainment

May 16, 2008

Arden, NC- Crossroads Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of Cross 4 Crowns to a distribution agreement with the company.  Cross 4 Crowns was established in 2003 by group baritone Allen Leath.  “As of late, we have really had a desire to take our efforts to the masses, realizing we needed a lot of help to do that.  We never envisioned that we would have an opportunity to work with a company like Crossroads Entertainment.  We are truly excited to have this distribution agreement with them”, says Leath.

Chris White of Crossroads states, “There are a lot of good quartets out there today but, it is still difficult to find great ones like these guys.  We’re always looking for those artists that can make a solid contribution for the future for our business and I believe that Cross 4 Crowns has the possibility to do that.   Though their style is not limited, their strength is certainly in a strong traditional quartet delivery” White added.
